Just when I finally meet a great girl, I get sent out on another mission. It wouldn't be so bad, but I will be missing another opportunity to see her. Now don't get me wrong, I love the excitement of going on a mission. But I have this burning desire to see her again and again. It's interesting, every time I see her I feel week in the knees and fluttery in my stomach. I don't know what that all means yet but I guess it might be love... Did I admit that out loud?
Well in other news, I read the latest copy of the Earth Gazette and I can't believe what the government is doing. I mean really, demonising one group of people. It just boils my blood. Not that there is much that can be done. I just hope it doesn't get to out of hand.
interesting thing I heard the other day. Seems that the eastern alliance has started a colony on Mars now as w ...

Not really sure what to think so far. I think we are hitting it off "very well" But then it's to early to tell. though I am having a hard time concentrating. Not sure if its the sleep deprivation or that I find myself lost when ever I gaze into the blue seas that are her eyes. I know this is only a first, dare I say date, but I find my self falling for this mysterious girl from earth.
You know I don't even know where she is from... She mentioned it I know, but as for where it is on a map... well I don't think I could point it out. Will have to look it up when I get back to my room tonight. Always good to show some interest in where they are from.
Whoops she is coming back from the powder room. Got to go.

well I flew in my first space combat mission ever! It was exhilarating and scary as hell. Everything went well at the beginning and we took the enemy by surprise as they where trying to infiltrate the convoy. I shot down 2 enemy and the others in our group scored equal kills. Then things started going south. We where still outnumbered and to make matters worse one of our group was damaged early on.
We quickly dispatched the drone fighters but there remained one that we couldn't get. I was in hot pursuit of one of the last fighters but it lured me away from the others. He quickly turned the tables on me and I was no longer the hunter, but the hunted. The words of my instructor came back me in vivid relief. The battle field is like the ocean, it is a fool that thinks he can change the course of the tide. But when you use the energy it produces you can gain incredible strengt ...

It's an interesting thing, flying into battle for the first time. I have flown for many years shuttle craft and transport craft. then I joined up and flew combat missions on earth. Each time it was full of excitement. But the outcome was always a fore-gone conclusion. always safe or we heavily outnumbered our foe. but today, for the first time I flew into battle in space into odds that have to be considered suicidal. the funny thing is, most of the shadow old guard say this is nothing new. To me, i am just happy to survive to fight again. Though I will admit it's the biggest high I have ever been on.
Now I wish I I could have a real steak dinner instead of the simulated food that they serve on deep space flights. but I think I will save food rant for another installment.

Well all was quiet on the space front... I was kicking back, enjoying a meal then the devil himself swoops down on us unsuspecting mortals. It's hard to believe a ghost from the past shows up and starts firing on us. by ghost I mean the Lori. Though I suspect it's not really the Lori anymore. More fighters than you can shake a stick at. anyway, the short story is I don't get to finish my meal and I find my self sitting in the cockpit of a VF-1 waiting for orders. To say I was scared spittles is the understatement of the year. i don't know how the others do it. Though I did hear that it gets easier after a few dog fights. Just wish I had spent more time in the similator...
Not sure why I get the dregs of the fighters though, just because I am new here. you would think that they would issue something a little newer to us. Oh well. could be worse.

I almost forgot to mention...
Wave sure gets himself into hot water. It's like he has a target on his back or something. Anyway, he was having one of those spats with one of the female officers. That isn't so unusual, but I could see that the Captain was getting a little miffed with the disruption. Almost wanted to say, "Get a room you two." But then when you are outranked, it's not a good thing to rock the boat.
There seems to be a lot of that kind of stuff going on around the ship and you almost have to wonder if the earthly seasons have any effect here in space. It sure feels like spring somehow.
I don't want to be the gossip, but, Between FireGirl chasing after this mysterious Fireman. (Sure looks like Fireman that was killed in a firefight.) Nice enough guy, this Fireman, but he has a hard time getting accepted since he is a transfer from ...

Every wonder what the day might bring? Well I found my self doing just that. I think I will live to regret that, well maybe not the liv part. But you get the idea.
Anyway, I woke up and all was great we where a week out to space and nothing had really happened except a unruly captain thought he could tell our good captain what to do. Big mistake. I suspect she will throw him out the nearest air lock next time. Then the fun really began. A ship shows up at our rear and gets all the convoy all mixed up and heading in different directions. That in it's self wasn't so bad, but then they launched far more fighters than a ship that size should be able to launch. To make matters worse, it appears to be the Lori! that can't be good. The Lori was the first of the line and what the DarkFire was based off. But the question that really needs to be asked is where did ...
