So it finally has happened. No it's not the end of the world. Though for those in the democracy watch front, they may differ in there opinion on this. It seems that in order to combat the rising risk of terrorism activities the government has created a special task force to do investigations. They have broad powers, some of which allows them to do wire taps, searches and digital property confiscation with out getting search warrants. This is all in the name of safety of course. What is even more troubling though, if it was possible to be more troubled. it seems that since the death of the opposition leader, the hope of an upcoming election is out of the question. The official word from the Chancellors office is that it is just to unsafe to run an election at this time. Probably in the near future an election will be possible again. but until that time we will have to be patent while the current government attempts to get the latest criminals under control.
Finally some good news. it seems that food supplies have started trickling into the city. this is good news for most of the populace, as food deliveries had been hampered by a trucking strike and food has been getting scarce. The military has been moving food for the past few days. We can only hope this is a permanent fix and not just a political stop gap to get some of the heat off the provisional government.
The Chancellor names Admiral Specialist leader of the combined militarize of humanity. This is a major promotion for the Shadow Force admiral. He became a contender for the position after general Fastrax was killed in battle. The previous military leader was found in his room by the cleaning lady. he evidently had been dead for about 6 days, as the cleaner only came to clean once a week. it was unknown at press time how he had died, but it is suspected that he overdosed. The word on the street is he was a heavy drug user.
