Appearance: Think Bass from MegaMan, but slightly different. The fins on the helmet go all the way around his head to look more like a bass clef, and the chest jewel is replaced by an off-white bass clef emblem. About the same otherwise.... (kinda like the difference b/t MM and MMX)

Personality: Sarcastic and egotistical, but often a voice of wisdom to those around him. He tries to help out in his own messed-up little ways from inside his PET.

Past: Originally created as an android known as Bass in some far-off corner of the Multiverse, he turned traitor on his "father"; Dr. Alfred Wiley, and after stealing a vast multitude of parts upgraded himself to a stronger being. In a search for a name, Bass mispronounced the word "Clef" as Cleft, liked it better that way, and stuck with it. After stopping various acts of terrorism conducted by his father, Cleft's reputation spread. To stop him, Wiley created a material up-loader, and banished Cleft to the confines of the Internet, where his abilities were randomly scattered. He obtained his current form by finding these bits of code. Smoke found him by chance online while looking for a way to customize the Navi he'd gotten after finding that generic ones did not have personalities. He defeated Cleft with a string of his scattered code, and agreed to wander the Net with him to find the rest and download him back into the physical world.

Present: In the hands of Smoke 669, Cleft aids Shadow Force by forcing programs to manifest as boss-type enemies and then destroying them. He and Smoke 669 still search for the code, but they found that the final string can only be obtained by killing or hacking another Navi, who is saving another world from Internet takeover. Until that blue dude finishes his job, Cleft is basically stuck on the Net.
