General Code of Conduct  v.1.05

(Or GCoC for short.)
Note* The following document is designed to encompass all interaction in the Shadows and with other Units.  The rules will be laid out for enlisted personnel and officers.  Also included within this document are the terms of disciplinary action and definition of groups within the Shadow Force.
 
Section1: Code for Junior Officers/Personnel
(Personnel and Junior Officers members will adhere to the following.) 
  1. All Personnel and Junior Officers will accord proper respect to command staff.  (See Section 5, A for Chain of command definition)

  2. All Personnel and Junior Officers will adhere to command structure.  Always report to your superior officer.

  3. While interacting with other squads/Units/persons on or off the web.  Show respect!  Remember you carry your Shadow name where ever you go.

  4. Personnel and Junior Officers shall not take orders from none Shadow officers.   Exceptions:
    1. Prearranged joint operations. 

    2. While visiting other squad basses. 


  5. Personnel and Junior Officers shall always represent the Shadows with honour.  To that end, Personnel and Junior Officers shall not do anything to jeopardize Unit security.  By spreading sensitive Shadow information.

  6. At all times keep your cool, if you are having difficulties with a fellow member:

                                i.            Don’t spam our thread in the lounge.  This is the first thing potential recruits will see.
                              ii.            Don’t spam the Shadow web site.  This is the second place for potential recruits to visit.
                            iii.            Don’t start a new spam thread on rt.com to continue your discussion/argument.
                             iv.            Email or instant message the member.
                               v.            If the problem persists bring it to an officers attention.
  1. If you are having a problem with a non Shadow Force member.

                                i.            Remember, that Shadow Force has no jurisdiction over non members opinions or actions.
                              ii.            Don’t spam our thread in the lounge.  This is the first thing potential recruits will see. 
                            iii.            If it goes against the TOU on rt.com, email rt.com with the problem.  Don’t escalate the problem by adding your own offence.
                             iv.            The best course of action is to ignore the offender.  Most of the time they will go away.
                               v.            Notify security department.  (section 5,E)
  1. Personnel and Junior Officers will, while on the rt.com site, comply with all regulations posted on the, fore mentioned site.

  2. Further to this, while on the shadow web site forums or chat, they will refrain from language, content, discussions, unbecoming of a shadow member.  Keep it pg.

  3. Personnel and Junior Officers will not:       

                                i.            Question any orders.
                              ii.            Give orders to a superior officer.
                            iii.            Show any disrespect to a superior officer.
                             iv.            Show disrespect to fellow members.
 
Section 2: Personnel and Junior Officers Disciplinary action defined. 
Failure to follow the fore outlined items will result in disciplinary actions taken against the offending Personnel and/or Junior Officers member.  Order of action is as follows:
A.     First infraction- warning will be given by ranking Junior officer or command staff. (confidential via email copy to all command staff)
B.     Second infraction- Reprimand will be given by ranking Junior Officer or command staff.  (confidential via email copy to all command staff)
C.    Third infraction- Official Reprimand, resulting in a posting of infraction/punishment on shadow site.  Punishment to be determined by two command staff officers and may include, up to one loss of rank per infraction and/or other punishments determined by the command staff depending on the individual situation. An official reprimand will be posted on the shadow site for a one month period.  Reprimand will also be attached to permanent record and will be a consideration in future positions/promotions
D.    Fourth infraction and or repeated blatant disregard to section 1.  A formal tribunal will be held by three members of superior rank, where one of the three will include a member of the command staff:
                                      i.            Determine circumstances.
                                    ii.            Determine severity of punishment.
                                  iii.            Ultimately determine if dismissal from the shadows is warranted.
                                  iv.            All findings/decisions will be posted on the shadow site.  For a one month period.
                                    v.            If dismissal is warranted, the tribunal will inform the Shadow Force membership of the dismissal of the member via email and by posting decision of dismissal and all findings, not deemed top secret, on the shadow web page.  Members passwords will be revoked from the shadow site.
 
Section 3.  Officers conduct
A.     All officers will show respect for their fellow officers Personnel and Junior Officers, lead by example.
B.     All officers will show proper respect for all Robotech members.  Treat others the way you want them to treat you.
C.    All officers will follow proper chain of command. Always report to your superior officer.  Set the example, follow orders.
D.    While interacting with other Squads/Units/Persons on or off the web.  Show respect!  Remember you carry your Shadow name where ever you go.
E.     Officers shall not take orders from non Shadow officers.  Exceptions:
                                      i.            Prearranged joint operations
                                    ii.            While visiting other squad basses, you are a guest
F.     Officers shall always represent their squad with honor.  To that end, Officers shall not do anything to jeopardize Unity security or honor.
G.    At all times keep your cool, if you are having difficulties with a fellow member
                                      i.            Don’t spam our thread in the lounge.  This is the first thing potential new recruits will see.
                                    ii.            Don’t spam the shadow web site.  This is the second place for potential recruits to visit.

I.         Officers will, while on the rt.com site, comply with all regulations posted on the, fore mentioned site.
J.      Officers shall not promote dissent in the ranks.
K.     All discussions within command staff are to remain secret until ready for release to the Shadows at large. 
L.      All sensitive or top secret material shall remain so until declassified.
M.    Command Personnel are expected to deal with any and all conflicts in a courteous and respectful manner.
N.     At all times officers shall comply with these directives.  Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
 
4.  Officer Disciplinary Action Defined

E.     Duties of a tribunal.  A tribunal shall do the following.
                                      i.            Perform an investigation in to the charges.
                                    ii.            Interview all parties involved.
                                  iii.            Determine punishment, if need be.
                                   iv.            Determine if dismissal from the Shadows is warranted
                                     v.            All findings/decisions will be posted on the Shadow site.  For a one   month period (except for top secret information).  Record will be added to permanent file of member.
                                   vi.            If dismissal is warranted, the tribunal will inform the Shadow Force membership of the dismissal of the member via email and by posting decision of dismissal and all findings, not deemed top secret, on the Shadow web page.  Members passwords will be revoked from the Shadow site.
 
Section 5.  Definition
A.     Command staff:  Officers of Commander Grade or higher.
 
B.     Shadow Force motto:  For honor, for valor, for earth
 
C.    Reprimand: Reprimand defined
                                      i.            Reprimand will be given out after a warning has been issued.
                                    ii.            Reprimand will be added to permanent record of member and will affect promotion ability.
                                  iii.            When an official reprimand is issued, it will be made public on Shadow Force web site.
                                   iv.            Reprimands must be given before a tribunal may be called.
                                     v.            Reprimands may be pardoned, depending on the circumstances, by:
1.            Official apology to command and membership.
2.            Rendering extraordinary service to the membership.
 
D.    Formal tribunal
                                      i.            A tribunal may be called for by any officer after the fore mentioned requirements have been met.  *see section 2/d or 4/d
                                    ii.            Must be comprised of three officers of higher rank and one of the officers must be from the command staff.
                                  iii.            If sufficient officers of higher rank are not available.  Then five officers must sit on the tribunal panel with one of the five, a command staff officer.
                                   iv.            A tribunal will carry out an investigation in to the alleged allegations and give judgment on the findings.  The accused will have the opportunity to defend them selves.
                                     v.            The tribunal will post decisions and findings on the web site.  All top secret info will be removed from the posting.
                                   vi.            If dismissal is warranted the offending member will be removed from the Shadow web site.  Passwords will be revoked and all Shadow Force members will be emailed with the details of the offending members removal.  A posting will be made to the Shadow web site.

F.     Security Department There are two security divisions with in the Shadow Force
                                i.            Internal security: Called SI2
1.            Responsible for upholding the piece with in the Shadows.
2.            Responsible for investigation of new members.
3.            Responsible for weekly reports on security matters.
 
                              ii.            External security: Called SI3
1.            Responsible for external security.
2.            Intersquad intelligence gathering.
3.            Responsibility for UNSpacy representation.
4.            Responsible for warning squad members of potential troublesome Robotech members.  (ex. Shadow Warrior 13)
5.            Responsibility for Bi-weekly reports
 
F.     Submitting additions or changes to GCoC:
                                i.            Changes to the GCoC can be submitted by pilots, recruits or officers, submissions can be made to Command staff.
                              ii.            Submissions will be evaluated at the Bi-weekly Command staff meeting and the submitter will be notified of the decision there after.
                            iii.            Updates to the GCoC can only be made four times a year or quarterly.  Submissions can be ratified on a bi-weekly bases, but only added to the Official GCoC quarterly.  As such, approved amendments are not official until there inclusion with in the official GCoC document.  Notification of inclusion must be given via email to all members at time of inclusion.
                             iv.            Any changes to the GCoC must be accompanied by an email notification to all Squad Members.  Noting the changes.
                               v.            Command staff are not obligated to make changes upon submitted request.
                             vi.            Removal of the GCoC can only be accomplished with a vote of current membership and a majority of 50% plus one.  A new GCoC, or a similar document, must be presented for ratification at the same vote to replace current GCoC.
 
G.    Meaning of version numbers in title.  For every revision of the GCoC a point number will be added to the version.  This includes wording change or adding points.  Points are defined as Roman numerals or sub heading numbers.  Sections or chapters are section #, or uppercase letters.  (ex adding a revision changes v 1.01 to v1.02.  Adding an extra chapter or section to the GCoC results in v1.01 to v2.01)
