Originally the Lori was going to be a heavy cruiser but it soon became apparent that it would not be adequate for the changing mission of RDF.  So a new design was put forward, a large, quick carrier class.  the proto type was the Lori.  It's design was finished Dec 19, 2019 and was launched July 15th 2021.  It's design is well suited for all kinds of space born situations and has been used from anything from escort duty to search and rescue to full combat.

After going through the normal shakedown cruses and all the bugs where worked out.  The engineers used what they learned from building the first one on the next two carriers  As the DarkFire was being readied for space trials the Lori was making way for the outer rim, looking for the source of the Anti Unification League ships and fire power.

January 10 2021, the last communication is received from the Lori.  No other communication is ever received from the ship again.  it is presumed that it has been lost with all hands.  No formal rescue mission was undertaken due to lack of resources at the time.

the ships captain was Edmund Henderson.  He was a senior officer in the RDF.  Usually taking the new ships out for their maiden voyage.
